PSV and Red Bull Bragantino each took a point from their second group match. Shortly before the end, Jaden de Guzman equalized for the Eindhoven side.
PSV midfielder Joel van den Berg was not entirely satisfied with the draw: "We hardly gave anything away. We started the match a bit nervously, but as the first half progressed, we were able to find more space in midfield. I think we generally dominated and were the better team. We also created most of the chances. I think we could have scored more goals."
In the second half, the Brazilians took the lead. Van den Berg commented: "I haven't reviewed the footage yet, but it felt like a foul. I had the impression that I was being held down, which prevented me from jumping." There's not much time to dwell on it: "This match is over now. We’ll shower, eat, and then prepare for the next match against Manchester United. It can be a tough tournament, depending on how many minutes you play and the intensity of the matches." The next match against Manchester United is scheduled for this afternoon. Van den Berg added: "I think we need to win that match to advance. I also think it would send a message to the other clubs if we manage to win that game."
Van den Berg, who made his professional debut with Jong PSV last season, also briefly looked ahead to the upcoming season: "I just want to keep doing my thing with the Under-19s. Of course, I hope to join Jong PSV as soon as possible and get some minutes there. I’m confident that will happen."
