FC Utrecht en Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors wonnen vrijdag allebei hun eerste wedstrijd. Door de resultaten van de andere wedstrijden van vanochtend, was vooraf duidelijk dat de winnaar van dit duel als enige op 6 punten na twee wedstrijden zou komen.

De eerste kans in de wedstrijd was voor FC Utrecht, maar de voorzet van de linksbuiten mistte richting. In de 5e minuut was het Giordinelo Meulens (FC Utrecht) die rakelings naast schoot. Direct daarna was het Juyoung Kim met een tegenstoot namens Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, maar ook zijn inzet trof geen doel.

In de 11e minuut waren het de Koreanen die op voorsprong kwamen door een afstandsschot van Seongvin Bae.
