Atletico Madrid still had all to play for, while PSG was already out of contention for a semi final spot.
The first half saw Paris St. Germain slightly having the upper hand, thus taking a 0-1 lead in the 6th minute. Until the final two minutes of the half, Atletico couldn't create anything. Then they were gifted two goals. First an Parisian own goal, then a big error by the French goalie who completely misjudged the bal. This lead to a 2-1 score at half time.
Right from the kick off in the second half Gabriel Suarez scored his second of the game and effectively neutralizing the French resistance. A couple of minutes later Gabriel Suarez scored his third goal of the match, securing his hattrick. The rest of the match saw both teams score once, thus ending the match in a vital 5-2 win for Atletico.

In dit laatste duel stond er voor Atletico Madrid nog het nodige op het spel. Met een goede overwinning konden zij zich plaatsen voor de halve finale. Paris St. Germain was al zo goed als uitgespeeld.
De eerste helft had Paris St. Germain lichtjes de overhand en namen in de 6e minuut ook de leiding 1-0. De Spanjaarden konden hier weinig tegenover stellen, totdat ze het geluk in de laatste twee minuten van de eerste helft in de schoot geworpen kregen. Allereerst was het Noham Kamara, die met een eigen doelpunt de gelijke stand liet aantekenen. Vervolgens was het een minuut later een enorme inschattingsfout van de Franse keeper die onder de bal door dook en Gabriel Suarez kon in een lege goal de 2-1 ruststand aantekenen.
Direct na de aftrap van de tweede helft scoorde Gabriel Suarez zijn 2e doelpunt van de wedstrijd en daarmee was het Parijse verzet wel gebroken. In de volgende vier minuten wist Atletico nog tweemaal te scoren, waaronder Gabriel Suarez met zijn derde treffer. Halverwege de tweede helft wist Paris St. Germain nog wel wat terug te doen, maar meer ook niet.
Door de 5-2 eindstand en op basis van gescoorde goals plaatst Atletico Madrid zich voor de halve finales.
