Red Bull Bragantino is als derde geëindigd in het toernooi om de Otten Innovation Cup. De wedstrijd tegen het Portugese Benfica werd met maar liefst 5-1 gewonnen. Benfica is door deze nederlaag veroordeeld tot plek 4.

De eerste grote kans van de wedstrijd was er voor Pedro Henrique, maar hij vond Benfica-doelman André Moreira op zijn weg. Na 8 minuten spelen is het dan wel raak. Spits Juliano Viano Papille faalt niet oog in oog met de keeper en zet zijn ploeg op een 0-1 voorsprong. Daarna dringt Benfica aan en is het een aantal keer dicht bij de gelijkmaker. Bij de afronding ontbreekt het echter aan scherpte. Benfica bleef op zoek naar de gelijkmaker, maar gescoord werd er in de eerste helft niet meer.

Na de rust is het Red Bull Bragantino dat uit de startblokken vliegt. Danilo Lucas da Silva Augusto zet zijn ploeg op een 0-2 voorsprong.
